Meet Attorney Gary Wm. Moylen, Esq.

Attorney Gary W. Moylen, Harvard-educated and trained at one of New Jersey's largest law firms, has been providing zealous, personalized representation for his clients for over 35 years. Mr. Moylen is certified by the New Jersey Supreme Court as a certified civil trial attorney since 1993, a distinction given to only 2 percent of all trial lawyers in New Jersey.

He is an experienced, dedicated trial attorney who has extensive experience in:

  • Sexual abuse by clergy — Sexual misconduct, molestation, screening clergy from accountability
  • Personal injury lawsuits — Motor vehicle accidents, 18-wheeler commercial trucking crashes, motorcycle collisions, slip-and-falls
  • Medical malpractice — Surgical errors, birth injuries, wrongful death matters
  • Legal malpractice — Unethical practices, inadequate representation, lack of communication
  • Estate litigation — Probate disputes, trust litigation, undue influence matters, beneficiary and heir's claims

Mr. Moylen has been recognized as one of New Jersey's leading personal injury attorneys and has been selected as one of New Jersey's Top Lawyers by New Jersey Monthly magazine every year since 2005. He has also been selected for inclusion in the Super Lawyers list for outstanding acknowledgment by his peers and professional achievement.

Mr. Moylen was admitted to practice law in New Jersey in 1978. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to two separate four-year terms on the Supreme Court of New Jersey District XIII Ethics Committee, Mr. Moylen investigated and prosecuted cases of attorney misconduct. He was honored to be appointed to the board of trustees of the Legal Services of Northwest Jersey. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, the Trial Lawyers Association, the Warren County Bar Association, the New Jersey Association for Justice and other professional organizations.

Because Mr. Moylen has extensive experience in other areas of the law, including probate litigation, business disputes and construction cases, his community involvement also includes representing several churches, both Catholic and Protestant, as pro bono general counsel. He has supported Covenant House, a national outreach for runaway children, for years.

A Personal Stake In Protecting The Rights Of Victims

In 1982, Mr. Moylen's oldest brother was brutally murdered. As a result, he became active in the crime victims' rights movement. In association with other crime victims, including the parents of murdered children, Mr. Moylen was instrumental in having the New Jersey Constitution amended to provide for and protect the rights of the victims of violent crimes. In the years since, he has represented victims of violent crime in a variety of contexts — including to obtain state benefits, to sue for the lack of security or to sue the perpetrator for damages or otherwise.
